The Kimpton Brice Hotel wedding ceremony

Laura + Stephen

REAL WEDDINGS AT The Kimpton Brice Hotel

Storytelling the big day

Laura is a Georgia native who met Stephen when she moved to New Jersey for work. They both may hail from New Jersey now, but these lovebirds felt most at home getting married down south in Savannah. It was a nod to Laura's home state, but also the perfect tourist destination to enchant all of their out-of-town guests.

They picked The Kimpton Brice Hotel because its modern yet classic style fit with their personalities and the whimsical event they were after. Laura also loved that everything, from wedding-day preparations and ladies' brunch to the ceremony and reception, could all be done in the same stellar space. But what really did it for them was the exceptionally friendly staff from start to finish.

Memorable Details

Guests were treated to a wine hour before the wedding ceremony in the Secret Garden. The intimate space was appointed with clear bulb lights and delicate glass domes that Andrea Harper of Gray Harper Event Maker filled with local succulents and flowers to complement the bridal bouquets. While guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the Secret Garden Laura and Stephen snuck away to snap some sunset photos beneath The Kimpton Brice Hotel's towering crepe myrtles.

"From the moment you pull up to the valet, you are greeted with a genuine smile that makes you feel like family," says Laura.

During the ceremony in the Wine Cellar, a gorgeous hurricane candle display decorated the credenza.

The party made it back to the exquisite event space to start the reception and seated dinner. The delightful wedding cake designed by LuluCakes was adorned with the same flowers Andrea provided for the ceremony, carrying the motif throughout. When the party finished up at 11 p.m., guests joined Laura and Stephen for a special sparkling exit into iconic Washington Square. They also enjoyed Byrd's Famous Cookies packaged in Georgia Peach postcard boxes as a sweet sendoff.

A string band played during the ceremony and for part of the reception.
